Mahehle Cattle Clinic

In January this year the Ingwe Farmer’s Association invited us to partner with them in an animal health initiative in one of their rural communities, Mahehle. Ingwe commercial dairy farmer Greg Carter-Brown who neighbours the community, has been working alongside the state vet to tackle concerning animal health issues most notably of which is Brucellosis or Contagious Abortion. HGA approached Dr James Hood from World Veterinary Services who kindly agreed to supply medication and vaccines and a clinic was arranged in March. Cattle were the focus of the day and all were surprised to see the number of animals that were herded in from farm and wide to receive treatment. In the end 738 animals were treated.
